Aquaria KLCC

Aquaria KLCC is the first commercial aquarium in the Malaysia federal capital and a wonderful place to spend the school holidays with the family in Kuaal Lumpur. Located in KLCC, adjacent to the PETRONAS Twin Towers, Aquaria KLCC is a world-class aquarium that showcases animals and various types of colorful marine life species from Malaysia and around the world.

The aquarium occupies 60,000 square feet in the Concourse level of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. A visit to the Aquaria KLCC will take you through a journey of discovery in education as well as eco- tourism, supported by the latest technology with a mesmerizing ambience.

It's a RM60 million aquarium featuring some 5,000 aquatic and marine animal exhibits of over 150 different species from Malaysia and around the world – some caught, some sourced and some given. Boasting of an area spanning two levels and covering over 5,500 sq m, making it the largest in the world, the Aquaria has 19 tanks with various environments to keep and display fishes from various parts of the world.

It was unmistakably the school holidays, with kids swarming in high-pitched stampedes into Suria KLCC all morning. Apologetic-looking parents trail the pack, succumbing to the infinite curiosity and not to mention the immeasurable energies of their children. There are three shallow pools with swimming creatures where you can touch and catch with your hands. The tunnel underneath the shark-tank was impressive. On this travelator, big sharks, sting rays and other rather large fish swooped overhead or just lazily floated past.

The admission fees are RM38 for adults and RM26 for children. Seems expensive eh? But you will be glad to know that there are discounts for locals who present their MyKad. After discounts, it would be RM28 for adults, RM22 for children.
